Overview
Locations are physical spots in your storage where you keep your cards. By assigning cards to specific locations you can quickly find them when fulfilling orders and control which marketplace each location syncs stock to.
Before creating locations make sure Inventory Management is enabled in your settings. See the
Inventory Management guide for instructions.
Naming system
TCGTracking recommends using a Shelf-Box-Divider system to name your locations. This makes it easy to physically find cards when you need to pull them for an order.
A
Shelf
The shelf or row in your storage area
-
1
Box
The box or bin on that shelf
-
A
Divider
The section within that box
Example location names
A-1-A
Shelf A, Box 1, Divider A
A-1-B
Shelf A, Box 1, Divider B
A-2-A
Shelf A, Box 2, Divider A
B-1-A
Shelf B, Box 1, Divider A
You do not have to use the Shelf-Box-Divider system — any naming convention works. The key is to be consistent so you can easily find cards when pulling orders.
Creating a location
- Go to your TCGTracking dashboard
- Click Inventory in the navigation
- Click the Locations subtab
- Click + Create Location
- Enter a name for your location (e.g. A-1-A)
- Choose which marketplaces this location should sync with
- Click Save
Go to Locations
Create all your locations before you start adding stock. It is much easier to organize your inventory from the start than to reorganize it later.
Controlling marketplace sync
Each location can be set to sync with one or both of your connected marketplaces. This lets you keep dedicated inventory for specific platforms without any overlap.
A-1-A
Manapool ONTCGPlayer OFF
Stock in this location only lists on Manapool
A-2-A
Manapool OFFTCGPlayer ON
Stock in this location only lists on TCGPlayer
A-3-A
Manapool ONTCGPlayer ON
Stock in this location lists on both platforms
To change the sync settings for a location:
- Go to Inventory → Locations
- Find the location you want to update
- Toggle the sync switch on or off for each marketplace
- Changes save automatically
Turning off sync for a marketplace will stop stock updates for that location on that platform. Make sure your listings are accurate before disabling sync.
Adding stock to locations
Once your locations are set up you can start assigning cards to them when adding stock.
- Go to the Inventory tab in your dashboard
- Click Add Stock
- Search for the card you want to add
- Select the condition and set the quantity
- Choose the location from the dropdown
- Click Save
You can split a single card across multiple locations by adding stock separately for each location. This is useful if you have copies stored in different places.
